Cast Your Anxiety

Cast Your Anxiety

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7

This scripture comforts hopelessness. He assures us in a still voice that we can cast our anxiety on him daily. Each day is a new day, and everyday we need to dump it all on Him so that we do not become overwhelmed.

As a new mom, I recall the experience of feeding my daughter in the quiet of the night. She was so calm and peaceful drinking her bottle in my arms. As I gazed at her, I suddenly felt a sharp and intense rush of anxiety in my chest. This was a new feeling for me, and I struggled to understand why I was feeling so overwhelmed. I tried so hard to maintain a peaceful environment, to appear that nothing was wrong with me, and to act like I was perfectly happy being a new mom. I knew something was wrong, but I just thought it was me not accepting this new role. I believe that babies, kids, and pets can sense your presence and state of emotions. I did not want her to feel any anxiety, hesitation, lack of love, or unhappiness from me. When I had this anxiety attack, I knew it was an eruption of everything I was trying to hide away.

God knows the battle you are fighting and is letting you know that He is right there with you. He is on watch over you morning, day and night to take away your anxiety so that you can access your most powerful weapon, your belief in Him.

Prayer

Oh Father,

I cry out to you Lord! Take my anxiety, as I can barely breathe. I believe in you, Lord Jesus Christ, and in your love for me. Fill my soul, heart, and mind with your love. Ignite your peace within me so that it may spread and dissolve all fear and anxiety. Let me feel your comforting care. Thank you Father for loving me so gracefully. I love you Father God.

Amen.
