God is Faithful

God is Faithful

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This scripture can be powerful but can also feel discouraging when read in a moment of despair. You may doubt your ability to handle the situation you are in. But don't lose hope! Oh my! Please read this scripture over and over until you realize that God will deliver His glory to you. The battle you are facing will be used to magnify something He has planned for you. He is already providing a way, and He will see you through. All it requires is for you to be faithful in believing in His glory. Even if you feel weak or depressed, focus on believing one day at a time, and keep your faith in Him.

In my experience, I have felt like two beings: my flesh and my spirit. My flesh was weak, scared, and confused, but my spiritual being was completely devoted to seeking God constantly. I knew I couldn't survive a day without Him. I had to learn how to let my spiritual faith guide my flesh. Some nights, when I prayed for my little one to sleep through the night, she would still wake up more than usual. My flesh was discouraged, but my spirit refused to be mad at God. I used those moments as time with God. Her night wakings became an opportunity for me to study more scripture and grow closer to God. He provided a way for me to endure and made me closer to Him. I read scripture and Christian books on my phone while my little one drank her bottle. I prayed while I walked and rocked her. Some nights, I simply meditated on the Our Father prayer. I am so thankful for those nights of study. Despite the fear and exhaustion, I remember feeling God's grace and drawing closer to Him.

Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who have trespassed against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.
